Your wife, Kristi, is beautiful, warm, devoted, and loving. You’ve been together for several years now. You’re soul mates, and there hasn’t been a single reason for jealousy.

But about a month ago, Kristi started texting someone on the phone frequently, smiling at the messages. She began going out alone more often. When you asked her about it, she said she’d met a new neighbor Stephanie that they’d become friends and they enjoy spending time together.

Stephanie lives on the floor below. Short black haircut, large breasts that she hides under oversized T‑shirts, but not so much as to conceal the outline. Always in loose sweatpants and sneakers. Dark, bold eyes. She looks like a rebellious girl who drives men crazy.

And for some reason, when you accidentally run into her in the elevator or near the building, she smiles at you as if you’d been competing and she’d won. She looks at you as if she knows something you don’t.
